The Startup of the Year category is designed for disruptive startup companies with technology, products, services or smart materials relevant to the built environment (design, build and operation of built assets). Entries are four years old or younger and have a total team size of 40 full-time employees or less (excluding contractors, where there is no employee limit). They demonstrated evidence of a convincing business plan, go-to market strategy, product-market fitness, innovation, sustainability, traction and scalability.
Presented with options for this category, judges were strict about the definition of a startup – that it should produce its own products or services and not be part of a larger organisation – and voted to shortlist three of the companies that entered.

The winner for each of the nine categories will be announced on Wednesday 2 June, on the second day of the Construction Technology Festival, taking place in Dubai. Find out more here.
About the Construction Technology Awards
The Construction Technology Awards celebrate new approaches and best-in-class use of technology within the built environment. They look for outstanding examples of technology implementation, transformation and leadership that have helped design, build or operate projects better – be that through improved design, efficiency, cost reduction, sustainability, or improved workplace safety.
