In an increasingly challenging and changing market Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, set out to develop a digital transformation programme that focuses on four key objectives:
- The ability to respond to the market and to open new markets and opportunities
- Transform existing services using digital and technology as a key enabler
- Improve operational effectiveness using advanced tools and techniques
- Create an innovative culture and transform the DNA of the organisation to be future-ready
The programme was initiated in 2020 to ensure that it was able to respond to a changing and more digitally mature market. It was clear that if it continued with current ways of working, it could be the next Kodak. To achieve its goals, Atkins leveraged its global community, supply chain, technology partners and ensured it had the complete support and buy-in of senior stakeholders. Without these, it could not succeed. The outcomes of the programme are to deliver on the following:
- Introduce new services
- Increase the win success rate
- Reduce margin downturns
- Increase repeat work from existing clients
- Be an employer of choice for the next generation.
