Rowan Alawi started her career at the age of 13 in her family’s construction business. She used Microsoft Excel in the 1990s to reduce the time wasted on manual calculations then she studied mechatronics engineering to be one of the first females in the Birzeit University (Ramallah, Palestine) to obtain this degree.

She founded Trase, which reduces by 30% the operation cost and increases labour productivity by providing accurate site data to increase the data-driven decisions instead of working more.

Rowan was selected to present Palestine in One Young World. She is an entrepreneur and has won several awards, including at Expo Live 2020 to be the only Arab global innovator and be selected in the top 25 start-ups among 175,000 globally.
