Dubai Municipality
Dubai Municipality (DM) is the municipal body with jurisdiction over city service and the upkeep of facilities in the Emirate of Dubai, UAE. DM chose to be a leading entity in green buildings regulation by reducing energy use in offices and customer service centres. City of Dubai witnessed an increase in the percentage of green buildings from 7.4% in 2017 to 17.6% in 2019.
All Dubai Municipality Service Customer Centres are certified in energy management and subject to green initiatives via Etisalat Energy Efficiency Services (E3S), which has a detailed scope for the energy management solutions. DM has a large number of office buildings that are intermittently occupied, creating an opportunity to reduce energy use.
By controlling the HVAC, which is the most dominant factor in energy consumption, the program helps reduce the consumption with limited investment. Dubai Municipality Centres (in Al Twar and Al Manara) are two of the earliest to comply with the Energy Saving Program in Dubai Municipality.
