North Crescent Towers at Durrat Al Bahrain

North Crescent Towers at Durrat Al Bahrain
  • Entered by: Mohamed Salahuddin Consulting and Engineering Bureau
  • Project Owner/Developer: Durrat Asset III
  • Consultants (Architecture/STR/MEP): Mohamed Salahuddin Consulting and Engineering Bureau
  • Main contractor:

The North Crescent is a waterfront residential twin towers located as part of Durrat Al Bahrain island, with the advantage of being an oasis away from the mainland of Bahrain while offering magnificent views to the sea. The aim of the project was to develop a living space with maximised waterfront views, creating a prominent connection to the sea. The new apartment complex will serve as a destination that includes multiple residential apartments, retail stores, cafes and health club facilities that enhance the island’s experience. The design of this project reflects the importance of creating a sense of place, welcoming, security and family-oriented destination with a strong presence on the seafront. This is translated into a development that welcomes the sea, with long, continuous surrounding balconies to cast shadows on the building and to maximise sea views. The building design encompasses two residential towers situated on a podium with the general common facilities located below. Factors such as natural ventilation, maximum use of shading balconies sun path diagrams and the sea views are considered as factors that contributed to shaping the project’s architecture.
