Parsons
Parsons specialises in delivering large infrastructure projects across urban, government, commercial, utility, transportation, and industrial sectors. Increasingly, our clients require that data be gleaned from all facets of their infrastructure in their desire to develop smart cities, smart transportation, and smart utilities, etc. Parsons created the Engineering Digital Transformation (EDT) initiative to adopt new software and adapt our processes for capturing the complete digital record of the “built” environment.
EDT was envisioned as a new, digitally optimised design framework, satisfying client requirements for capturing a plethora of new data during all phases of a large infrastructure investment (capital projects), improving Parsons’ capacity for using advanced technologies and object oriented data concepts, significantly reducing the overall costs and schedule of a project’s budget and time to deliver, and improving overall customer satisfaction. Parsons EDT solves these problems by creating a digital twin of the infrastructure. Essentially, a sharable digital record of the shape, location, interconnection, procurement record, performance specification, financial record, and operational status of all physical components and assets.
