The project is located in Muscat, Oman and called for the development of a three-story mall with a total built-up area of 387,000 sqm. The mall has 350 outlets spread across 137,000 sqm of retail space, as well as an 8,000 sqm play area, making it Oman’s flagship retail, leisure, and entertainment destination.
The Mall of Oman will feature the Sultanate’s largest Vox cinema, Family Entertainment Centre, Magic Planet, and Carrefour outlet, in addition to a number of other facilities. The iconic snow park will be the first of a new generation of indoor amusement parks with real snow and ice (14,513 sqm). The project was complex in terms of design and construction, and it was a fast-tracked project that needed to be completed in 36 months. As a result, the designer fully implemented BIM technology throughout the design phase, and the BIM project model was handed over to construction teams and successfully used by all stakeholders throughout the construction phase.
