Drees & Sommer
Drees & Sommer’s (Dreso) global objective for future-oriented consulting is to be digital, sustainable, innovative and cost-efficient. This means adopting a 360-degree approach from the outset, and evaluating the individual aspects of complex interdependencies. This aligns with Dreso’s motto, “The Blue Way”, which promotes holistic thinking and actions, taking all facets of sustainability into account.
Economy, ecology and functionality are inseparable for us. At a regional scale, the Interdisciplinary Design and Research (IDR) team’s philosophy follows a holistic approach whereby all stages of a project’s lifecycle are considered from the early design stages. Aesthetics, performance, buildability, operability, wellness and financial viability are taken into consideration throughout the project development process.
IDR creates bespoke digital tools and methods to achieve these business initiatives. By augmenting 4D capabilities into bespoke Interdisciplinary Design Models, we enable the project team to compare, test, and evaluate a large number of design scenarios, including parametrically altering the geometry of the design, as well as testing renewable energy and phasing options. This enables the project team to freely explore design options in workshops with a live 4D model, while receiving immediate feedback in terms of technical and financial performance.
